The specific reasons why your loan application was declined will be provided in the Adverse Action notice that is sent to you via email.
Please note that prequalification is different from being approved. If you apply online and are pre-qualified, we may ask you for additional documentation to verify your identity, employment, or income. If you don’t send us the documentation in time or if your documentation doesn't match the information on the application, your application may be declined.
Also, remember that being declined does not negatively affect your credit score, since we only use soft credit inquiry during your application.
If you were turned down because of incomplete or inaccurate information on your credit reports, you can dispute the information directly with the credit bureaus. You’re also welcome to come back and apply with us again in the future. Keep in mind that your credit profile can change frequently, and this may result in a different outcome next time!
